Newcastle midfielder Longstaff admits not getting along with Bruce

Newcastle United star Sean Longstaff does not have a lot of time for his old boss Steve Bruce.

The midfielder, who is a favorite of manager Eddie Howe, did not get along with Bruce when the latter was in charge of the Magpies.

Longstaff felt his career at the club may have been over had Bruce stayed in charge.

Speaking at the premiere of "We are Newcastle United" on Prime Video, Longstaff was asked about Bruce's team talks: "I couldn't even tell you! Every manager is obviously different.

"Even when I was out on loan, you experience different managers. Like I said, we are lucky now that we have one of the best in the world and I will always be grateful to him for what he has done for me and the rest of the lads. It's been amazing and looking to pay him back every time I play."

He then added on his career changing after Bruce's sacking: "Anyone can leave the club at any time, can't they? So it could have happened but lucky for me, it didn't.

"Everything happens for a reason so really try not to give that too much thought anymore and just try to look at what's coming rather than what has happened. Those times made me stronger. That is all in the past now and I am looking up."
