Newcastle manage to secure Arsenal, Liverpool target Aarons to new deal

Newcastle have fought off Premier League interest to secure Rolando Aarons to a new deal.

The 20-year-old winger snubbed interest from Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham, who were all seriously interested in securing his services, says the Independent.

He's pledged his future to Newcastle until 2021, in a boost to Rafa Benitez's outfit after their Championship defeat to Fulham.

Aarons said: "It's something that was always going to happen but it's nice to get it done. I love the club and this shows it even more.

"Under the new manager there's a project and it's a forward-thinking club now, so I'm just happy to be part of what the manager has in store for the club.

"And I'm happy that he has faith in me. I'd like to repay him and the fans and my family for this opportunity."
