Newcastle United have opened talks with Shakhtar Donetsk for striker Facundo Ferreyra.
TMW says Toon have sounded out Shakhtar about a loan deal for Ferreyra. Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is keen on a 12-month loan with the view to signing him permanently next June.
Ferreyra, 23, is a former Argentina U20 international and moved to Shakhtar last year from Velez Sarsfield.
The centre-forward is assessing his future at Shakhtar over the current problems between Russia and Ukraine.
