Newcastle legend Shearer: 2-goal Almron blew my mind

Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has sung the praises of Miguel Almiron after their 4-1 win at Fulham.

A brace against the ten men of Fulham - which could have been a hat-trick had he not strayed offside - the latest feather in his cap this season. His best goal scoring return in the black and white of Newcastle is four, one short of this season's tally.

Speaking on Match of The Day Shearer said: "Miggy was so fine he blew my mind. Two games for Paraguay he still had loads of energy. Running in behind, he caused them problems all afternoon.

"You're about to see the goal of the month if not goal of the season. What a strike this is, the technique, the ability to do it, the confidence to do it. The keeper has no chance.

"Watching the ball all the way, look at that technique to get it up and down over the goalkeeper and it was a really impressive performance from him and Newcastle. I know they [Fulham] had the red card and they were down to ten men but they still had to do it.

"He gets his second goal there in the right position and having the desire to get in there at the far post and it was a special performance from him. Really good from him and Newcastle. At times I've been critical of his final pass and final ball but he looks so much more confidence this season."
