Newcastle left-back Dummett set to be awarded new contract

Newcastle United defender Paul Dummett has earned a new contract at the club.

The Sun suggests that he is set to sign an extension to his deal with the Tyneside club.

Dummett will follow the lead of his teammate, Fabian Schar, who put pen to paper on a two-year extension on Friday.

Manager Eddie Howe is extremely keen to tie down Dummett as well.

The 30-year-old has only played three Premier League games this term, but is someone that Howe believes can contribute in the coming seasons.

Newcastle are also engaging with Sean Longstaff about a new deal.

The midfielder and academy product is out of contract this summer.
