Newcastle United are ready to make an offer for St Etienne striker Pierre-Emerik Aubameyang.

The Daily Star says Toon will table a £15.2m bid for Aubameyang, according to French media reports.

Gabon international Aubameyang, 24, netted 19 goals in Ligue 1 last season.

A frontman is top of Alan Pardew's wish-list with striking resources desperately thin on the ground.

Tottenham are also interested in Aubameyang but it's understood that Newcastle are the only club to firm up their intentions.
