Newcastle keep powder dry in bid for Villa midfielder Ireland

Newcastle United are keeping their powder dry in talks for Aston Villa midfielder Stephen Ireland.

The Journal says United are biding their time as they look to add midfield reinforcements.

The Irishman is Toon boss Alan Pardew's No1 target for the month.
