Newcastle United are watching Brighton defender Lewis Dunk.

The Evening Chronicle says the Magpies have been keeping tabs on the England Under-21 international throughout the season.

However, while United go into the January transfer window looking for a centre-back as cover for the injured Steven Taylor, they may wait until the end of the season before picking up their interest in the 20-year-old Seagulls defender.

United are already aware that Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, Chelsea and Liverpool scouts have also been spotted in the stands at Brighton's Amex Stadium.
