Newcastle Jets have decided to rest star striker Emile Heskey for this weekend's meeting with Melbourne Victory.
The fifth-placed Jets are looking to secure a top-six spot in order to play finals but have opted to keep former Liverpool and Aston Villa man Heskey as well as ex-Leeds United striker Michael Bridges out of the team for Sunday's trip to fourth-placed Victory.
Since arriving from the UK at the beginning of the 2012/13 A-League season, Heskey has scored nine goals in 22 appearances with his most recent strike coming in the 2-0 home win over Melbourne Heart on February 15.
