Newcastle Jets have signed some goalkeeping cover on a short-term deal to replace the injured Neil Young.
Paul Henderson has been brought in by the Jets to act as cover for Young who is continuing to return to full fitness following complications arising from a broken nose last season.
34-year old Henderson battled for the North Queensland Fury's number one position all of last season before his contract ended at the end of the term.
Henderson has joined the Jets from NSW Premier League club Sydney Olympic and Jets CEO John Tsatsimas said it was a good coup for the club.
"Certainly bringing in a goalkeeper of Paul's experience is a fantastic thing for the club," Tsatsimas said.
"It's not always easy to source high quality recruits as injury replacement players just prior to the season starting, but we've been very fortunate to secure Paul's services in Neil's absence."
