Newcastle Jets have begun to freshen up their coaching staff with news that assistant coach Mark Jones has been released.
Branko Culina's right-hand man was no longer a part of the club's plans moving forward so they decided to end his five-year tenure.
Newcastle have been busy recruiting new backroom staff in the past week or so but with fresh additions, the natural progression is to let people go and Jones has been the first casualty as the Hunter Valley outfit continue their off-field renaissance.
