Newcastle are interested in Barcelona striker Memphis Depay.

Mundo Deportivo says the Magpies are still strongly interested in the Dutch striker who looks to be on the peripheral of Barcelona's stacked squad.

This summer saw the Catalan giants add Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha to their squad which already contained Ousmane Dembele, Ansu Fati, Ferran Torres and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

While Aubameyang's departure to Chelsea meant reduced competition for Depay, the 28-year-old has made just three appearances so far this season, meaning he could be heading for the exit door in January.

His contract expires at the end of the season.
