Davide Santon says he's committed to Newcastle United - despite interest from AS Roma.

The Italian fullback has admitted fielding an approach from the Giallorossi.

"Roma are seeking a new quarterback?" joked Santon with Calciomercato.com in reference to Roma's American owners.

"I know, I know. The Giallorossi showed up a little while ago, but Newcastle refused to let me talk to them. It's OK with me, because I have settled in England and have no plans to move.

"I've only been here for a year, so it is too early to go back and start again."
