Newcastle United fear their deal for Anderlecht striker Aleksandar Mitrovic is off.

The Mirror says their bid to land Mitrovic has been derailed by a £12.5 million bid by Porto.

The Portuguese club have matched Newcastle offer to Anderlecht, and the Geordies could now add defender Chancel Mbemba to the deal to tempt the Belgians to do business.

Chelsea are also interested in making Mitrovic one of their back-up strikers and he has stalled on a switch to Tyneside as his options open up.
