Newcastle United face an uphill battle to sign Bournemouth duo David Brooks and Joshua King.
The Magpies are eyeing forward King and young winger Brooks after Bournemouth were relegated to the Championship.
But the Cherries won't let them leave on the cheap, demanding at least £20m for King and at least £11.5m for Brooks.
This could be a problem for Steve Bruce as he will only have £35m to spend this summmer, according to the Northern Echo.
Bruce also needs to shore-up his defence after injuries left him severely lacking that department towards the end of last season.
Toon were gearing up for a huge transfer window, however, their prospective takeover from a Saudi-backed consortium recently fell through.
