Newcastle United are weighing up a move for Sunderland's Bosman prospect Jack Colback.
The Journal says Colback's contract is up at Sunderland at the end of the season and a switch to St James' Park would be a straight-forward move for the midfielder, who hails from a family of Newcastle and Black Cats fans.
Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is already resigned to losing the player.
Aston Villa, Everton, Fulham and Stoke City have also been credited with interest - but a move to Sunderland's North-East rivals would get people talking.
