Newcastle United defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa insists he didn't aim to deliberately injure Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri on Sunday.
Yanga-Mbiwa's poor challenge has left Nasri sidelined for eight weeks and the City star's camp fuming.
"I tried to call, but he did not answer the phone. I only left a message. I would like to personally apologize, I'm sorry. It was never my intention to do something to him," Yanga-Mbiwa told L'Equipe.
