Newcastle fullback Danny Simpson says manager Alan Pardew is eager for him to get forward as much as possible.

Simpson reveals both he and left-back Jose Enrique have licence to attack.

He told Absolute Radio: "Yeah, he's definitely said he wants me and Jose to try and get forward more, which I think you've probably seen, and obviously as much as he wants to defend he said 'Get forward and get involved with your winger, help your winger out and go and get some goals', but also at the back as well we're doing a lot of defensive work, defensive work as a unit.

"As I said, its helping all of us because now we're starting to understand each other's role in the game more. No, it's nice to work on certain areas for us and for the attackers as well, because they're doing the same thing."
