Newcastle United intend to sign Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone for £6 million - if they can beat the drop.

Huddlestone is also unsure of how crucial he is to Spurs' plans. Newcastle failed in a late approach in the January transfer window for the 22-year-old.
