Newcastle United are pushing to sign on-loan Manchester United winger Tom Cleverley.

The News of the World says Toon boss Chris Hughton wants Manchester United prospect Cleverley, who cracked in 11 goals on loan at Watford last season. The 20-year-old is recovering from a knee ligament injury but wants Premier League experience next season.

Newcastle can give him that and Hughton feels two of the most promising midfielders in the country can add significant quality to his squad.
