FC Twente defender Douglas is in the sights of Newcastle United.

The Evening Chronicle says the 23-year-old is also attracting interest from Aston Villa and ambitious Queens Park Rangers and is thought to be keen on a move to the Premier League.

Sources in Holland say Newcastle United are amongst a clutch of interested parties interested in the 23-year-old defender.

Douglas' contract runs out next summer and the player could be available at a reduced fee rather than Twente losing him for nothing next summer.
