Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez has turned down an approach from Real Betis.

The People reports Benitez has snubbed a potential return to Spain after Real Betis made an approach.

With Benitez's future at Newcastle uncertain, the La Liga club are said to have contacted Benitez's advisers asking if he would be interested in the job there, only to be told he was not.

Benitez's priority is to remain at Newcastle, but he will only do so if he is given assurances that he will be allowed to invest and move the club forward.

Betis are now said to be considering Thierry Henry instead.
