Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew is delighted with the form of Yoann Gouffran this season.
Gouffran can look back on a year when he's gone from being one of the least heralded of the Toon's Gallic imports to an integral member of the team.
"It's fair to say he didn't come with any great fanfare," said Pardew.
"Not too much was made of him but we'd played against Bordeaux in the Europa League and were impressed with his two performances against us.
"We could see a player who was really committed and never gives up and had the quality to play for us."
