Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew insists Danny Simpson can still have a future at St James' Park.

Simpson - who has been linked with Queens Park Rangers and Fulham this summer - snubbed the last deal he was offered by the Magpies at the end of the season.

Pardew told the Evening Chronicle: "He's got a year left on his deal.

"He turned down a new contract and that's where we are.

"Danny could play the whole season next year. We'll have to see."
