Newcastle boss Pardew has sympathy for Liverpool flop Carroll

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew says he felt for Andy Carroll after victory over Liverpool.

Carroll was mocked by the home support after being hauled off by Reds boss Kenny Dalglish midway through the second-half.

Pardew said: "I felt for Andy today, I did.

"He's a terrific lad and he's having a tough year. But he will come back.

"On our side of the coin, Cisse was terrific, and long may that continue."
