Newcastle boss Pardew delighted seeing Oxlade-Chamberlain succeed at Arsenal

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew is delighted to see Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain already making an impact at Arsenal.

It was Pardew who unearthed the young midfielder during his time at Southampton and he insists that he immediately knew Oxlade-Chamberlain would become a great player.

Pardew, whose side must deal with the Arsenal wonder boy at the Emirates tomorrow night, said: "Chamberlain should go with England to Euro 2012.

"He's an absolutely outstanding player.

"I had him at Southampton, and gave him his debut at 16.

"You could tell even at that age he was going to be a good player. He's got good family behind him and he's a player who not only is going to be a good advert for English football in terms of his ability, but as a person as well. He'll be a great ambassador for the country.

"Physically I think he's better developed for it than Theo Walcott was when he went to the World Cup.

"Whether he gets enough match-time in the next 11 games to go to the Championships, Arsene Wenger will be the one to decide that."
