Newcastle United boss Steve McClaren doesn't want to lose Fabricio Coloccini to Crystal Palace.
Palace boss Alan Pardew wants a reunion with his former Toon captain.
But McClaren said: "I have stressed how much I want him here.
"I know there has been a lot of speculation but I said he's a big part of this football club.
"To be part of the team and the squad. I've expressed that to him and the club. There has been no official approach from anybody and I hope Colo will be training with us next week.
"He has been training intermittently and we wanted him to play more games.
"We've not risked him. We would have liked to have got some minutes today but I think he is probably now got a full week with us and he is read to train with the team."
