Newcastle United boss Kevin Keegan is hopeful that the money they threw at Luka Modric before he joined Tottenham is a sign he will be backed in the summer market.
Keegan said: "It's obvious by the fact we went in for Modric there is some money there.
"We were going to pay over three years and it was around £20m. So we were going to spend something like £6.5m this year on that player plus wages."
