Newcastle United boss Chris Hughton has played down reports of transfer talks with Bolton Wanderers.

Hughton is coy about their chances of signing Jlloyd Samuel and has denied Andy O'Brien is set to move back to St James' Park five years after leaving the club for Portsmouth following 120 games in the black and white stripes.

Hughton told The Journal: "Again, there is no update and we are not looking to sign Andy O'Brien."
