Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe says he has no doubts about skipper Kieran Trippier.
The fullback has hit a sudden form slump and was at fault for their Carabao Cup quarterfinal defeat at Chelsea.
But Howe says: "Kieran Trippier is fine, he is a strong character and vastly experienced. As well, it is not about one individual it is about the collective.
"We were so close to progressing and that was our intention a lot of the performance was good, but we do need a collective response."
Howe added: "Being one of the leaders in the group, Trippier is a strong character and they [teammates] will look to him, but I don't think it has been any different.
"We have all been in these positions before and we need a response against Luton. There is loads to analyse from Tuesday night - we drew the game and we did not not lose it.
"There was a lot of good to take from it. There are two competitions we have exited [EFL Cup and Champions League] and exited in the right way giving it our all."
