Newcastle boss Howe responds to links with Man Utd keeper Henderson

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has responded to talk regarding a move for Manchester United's Dean Henderson.

The England shot stopper has been linked with a move to the Magpies in the British press.

Henderson is second choice at Man United behind David de Gea, and may not be in new boss Erik ten Hag's plans.

While Howe may be an admirer of Henderson, he has given his backing to the current no.1 Martin Dubravka.

During his press conference ahead of their final game of the season, Howe said: "We're not close to signing anyone at this moment in time.

"That's far from the truth."
