Newcastle United boss Sam Allardyce insists midfielder Charles N'Zogbia is part of his long-term plans.

Allardyce said: "Charles N'Zogbia could arguably be the best left-back this club has on its books at the moment. For me and him, it was a chance to see him give a terrific performance in that position at Carlisle.

"I think it could be a good position for him if he wants to play there."
