Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce saw Crewe Alexandra defeat Peterborough United on Saturday.
The Evening Chronicle says the 59-year-old was seated alongside his son Alex at The Alexandra Stadium on Saturday afternoon as Crewe played host to Peterborough.
The international break means there are no Premier League or Championship fixtures, and the Magpies currently have no players out on loan at either League One side.
Harry Pickering and Charlie Kirk struck for Crewe as they won 2-0 on the day.
Posh striker Siriki Dembele has been linked with the likes of Crystal Palace and Fulham this season.
