Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez is keeping involved in their management restructure.

There remains uncertainty around Benitez's future. The club has acted to rejig the Academy, with ex-player Shola Ameobi in line for a role. Ben Dawson is likely to step up as head of coaches, and a loan manager and U23 boss could be recruited.

Benitez says of his plans: “I am in contact with Lee (Charnley MD), and I will say more or less the same.

“We have to make sure we are safe, then it will be easier. We can keep talking but the main thing will be to concentrate on the games."
