Newcastle boss Benitez opens door to future club ownership: Tranmere?

Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez admits he sees his future as a club owner.

Benitez fancies his chances as a hands-on co-owner one day — but lower down the leagues, where he can help develop players.

Intriguingly, he said: “In the future, I would like to be involved in a small club. At a massive level, no. I don't have this amount of money."

Asked if that could be Tranmere, his local team on Merseyside, he replied: “I didn't say the name, but close!"

Like Gary Neville at Salford?

“I don't think he has too much time to be coaching," added Benitez. “I like coaching too."
