Joe Kinnear remains in charge at Newcastle United, insists the club's bigwigs.

The Daily Mail says a club insider claims Mike Ashley and his managing director Derek Llambias are insistent that Kinnear will retain full control of the club when he returns within a month following major heart surgery.

The former Wimbledon manager has pencilled in a comeback game at Stoke on April 11, although it seems more likely he will be back to face his former club Tottenham at White Hart Lane the following week.
