Cheik Tiote has been branded the "biggest blunder" in Anderlecht's history of transfers.

The call was made by his former agent, Serge Trimpont, who is delighted to the midfielder now starring with Newcastle United.

"Between 2005 and 2008 he played football for Anderlecht. And for those three years they have ignored him. He is the biggest political blunder in the purchases of Anderlecht.

"You can ignore such a player a few months perhaps, but not three seasons!

"That boy has his character formed on the basis of revenge feelings towards Anderlecht."
