New York Red Bulls are still hoping they can lure a 'big name' quality player such as Barcelona's Thierry Henry to the club.

Rumours persist in regards to the France international striker joining the Red Bulls and although club sporting director Dietmar Beiersdorfer did not name any names, he said they were still in the market for a second designated player.

"We are looking for the one other player to reinforce our squad from time to time," he said. "I think this New York has a lot of big clubs, not in soccer, but in other sports. For sure we are looking forward also to developing our club here in New York and to be a big part of the sports scene in New York."
