New York Red Bulls insist new signings on their way

New York Red Bulls sporting director Erik Soler is adamant that two new players will land at Red Bull Arena before the 2011 MLS season kicks off.

After denying that Hamburg's Ze Roberto was on his way to the club, Soler made it clear that New York had plans to add some strength to the playing roster.

"We're going to sign two more players before the start of the season," said Soler. "One of them is going to be an alternative on the right fullback, and the other is going to be a central defender.

"It could also be a central midfielder. Hans would then look at moving Rafa Marquez down as a central defender. We'll see. But we're going to sign two more players before the season starts. That's what we decided, and that's what we're going to do.''
