New York Red Bull have eliminated expansion franchise Philadelphia Union from the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup.

It was the second time in four days the Union had gone down to the Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena following on from the MLS clash the home side won 2-1 on Saturday.

On this occasion, the score was once again 2-1 with Connor Chinn netting both for New York (16th and 41st minutes) whilst Sebastian Le Toux was on target for the Union (68th minute) before being stretchered off the pitch with an injury.

The loss was the Union's third in a row whilst New York have taken maximum points from their past three outings (two of which were MLS matches).
