New Torino manager Walter Novellino believes there are psychological scars within the players and hopes to remedy that by getting into their minds.

Toro lost 5-2 to Bologna in Novellino’s first game in charge after leading twice and the boss wants to find some light amidst the darkness.

“We are trying to work on our mistakes in defence, but above all to rediscover this team on a psychological level, working on their minds,” Novellion said.

“It is not possible to lose that way at Bologna after doing so well for 50 minutes. Now we need to find the belief in our capabilities to emerge from this tunnel, but at the moment all we can see is darkness.

“I am convinced this side is a lot better than their position in the table would suggest. This is why the Coppa Italia can help us find the light at the end of that tunnel.”
