New Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido Carrasco has taken aim at Monchi.

Monchi left Sevilla as sporting director to take charge of Aston Villa last summer.

Carrasco said: "He didn't give me congratulations for this achievement, but now it's time to talk about Victor Orta and not him. The ideal would have been to replace him last season, we had a bad year and he was one of those responsible.

"I don't want to get into debates or anything like that, this is one of the happiest days of the my life, I was appointed president of Sevilla and I only want to talk about Sevilla. Of everything we have left to do, of the future and not of the people I spent Christmas with and those I didn't spend it with."
