New QPR boss Critchley eager to keep Man Utd fullback Laird

New QPR boss Neil Critchley hopes to keep Manchester United loanee Ethan Laird for the rest of the season.

The Red Devils might want the 21-year-old as back up for Diogo Dalot if they sell Aaron Wan-Bissaka in January.

But Critchley insists the progress of former England Under-19 star Laird would be best served with the Championship promotion hopefuls.

He said: “Ethan has having a fantastic season here and playing every single week.

“I am sure Manchester United will be happy with Ethan and the way he's been playing and his development."
