New Liverpool boss Hodgson will not raid Fulham

New Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has revealed that he will not raid former club Fulham to strengthen his squad.

Hodgson, who led the Cottagers to the Europa League final last season, was given permission by the Londoners to talk to the Anfield club about the position left by Rafael Benitez and for that he will not go after any Fulham players out of respect.

"Fulham were good enough to let me speak to Liverpool and respectfully take the job," he said.

"The conversation with the chairman wasn't pleasant from my point of view and I hope one day he'll forgive me.

"I had wonderful support there from Mohamed Al Fayed and I've said I don't want to go in and raid them."
