Roy Hodgson will not speculate on the international future of Rio Ferdinand after taking the managerial position for the England national team.
Hodgson, who will depart West Bromwich Albion at the end of the season, was today unveiled by the Football Association as the new Three Lions boss and was immediately asked if Chelsea skipper John Terry and Ferdinand would be able to play in the same team following the racism row involving the Manchester United centre-back's brother Anton.
"I couldn't answer your question at this moment in time, certainly not before I have had a chance to hopefully sit down with them.
"But if I can't sit down with them, reach them on the telephone.""I think the important thing at the moment is to speak to as many players as possible," he said when asked about the situation.
