Liverpool's new chief executive Peter Moore says leaving EA Sports for Anfield is a "calling".
The 62-year-old will start working with the Reds in June, replacing Ian Ayre at Anfield.
Moore, a Liverpool-born businessman, is serving his final day at gaming giant Electronic Arts, bringing a decade of service to an end.
He has taken to social media to pen a tribute to his current employers, reports the Liverpool Echo.
“I move on now, not to a job, but more of a calling. With one more crank of the self-invention wheel, I am taking on a new and unique challenge, one that's embedded in my heart."
