Among new Barcelona president Sandro Rosell's first tasks will be to decide the future of sports director Txiki Begiristain.

Begiristain's contract expires at the end of the month and he could follow former president Joan Laporta out the door.

Rosell, before yesterday's election, stated Begiristain would continue if he was in charge, so long as "he met our guidelines".

"It depends on who wins today," Begiristain said yesterday morning, "it is obviously very dependent on this.

"I leave the door open. So far I have a contract, from now until June 30, it will be decided."
