Napoli are close to striking a deal for Porto midfielder Hector Herrera.

According to Mexican media sources, Napoli and Liverpool have been battling to land the midfielder.

However, ESPN Mexico says Napoli have struck personal terms with the Mexico international. Herrera has always favoured a move to Italy

Napoli will now step up negotiations with Porto over a fee for the player.

The Azzurri hope to do business over a deal worth €18 million plus a further €5 million in bonuses.
