Napoli have approached Fiorentina for fullback Federico Balzaretti.

The former Juventus defender has failed to nail down a regular first team spot since his arrival in the summer and Napoli are sounding out Fiorentina about a January deal.

A swap which would see Maurizio Domizzi going in the opposite direction has been mooted.
