Napoli coach Rafa Benitez is chasing Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina.
The Sun says Benitez made his move for the Liverpool keeper after Julio Cesar's switch from QPR stalled.
Reina, 30, knows he is unlikely to start the season following Simon Mignolet's £10million arrival from Sunderland.
Benitez hopes to link up with Reina after signing him for the Reds in 2005.
